FMX is an event by Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, organized by the Filmakademie's Institute of Animation, Visual Effects and Digital Postproduction.

Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg is one of the most renowned international film schools. The project-orientated curriculum promotes learning by doing during all stages of film and television production.

Filmakademie has received international success with films receiving prestigious awards such as Student Oscars awarded to the films "Rochade" (1998) and "Nimmermeer / Nevermore" (2007), a Golden Leopard for "Das Verlangen / The Longing" at the International Film Festival Locarno (2002), an Oscar nomination for "Das Rad / Rocks" in the category "Best Animated Short Film" (2003), and many more awards at film festivals throughout the world.

The Institute of Animation, Visual Effects and Digital Postproduction is based within the Filmakademie offering a project-based program on a comprehensive general film training background.

Graduates of the Institute of Animation have excellent career prospects. Many of them start up their own studio, work as freelancers throughout the world or are employed by companies in North America and Europe.

FMX is an event by Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, organized by the Institute of Animation, Visual Effects and Digital Postproduction, hosting the Animation Production Day (APD), a joint venture with the Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart (ITFS). It is an event in cooperation with VES Visual Effects Society, ACM SIGGRAPH, 5D Institute, Eurographics and HdM Stuttgart, supported by Autodesk. FMX is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts and the Ministry for Finance and Economic Affairs of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the MFG Film Funding and the FFA German Federal Film Board.
