FMX 2016: Testimonials

Congratulations to you and the whole FMX team for producing one of, if not the, best FMX events ever. The feeling while being there was just electrified.
Jon Peddie, President, Jon Peddie Research

Fabulous conference.  I am very impressed!  I was an advisor at the Game Developers Conference for many years, so I know something about what it takes to pull such a program together. What you’ve pulled together is actually quite extraordinary.
Chance Thomas, Sound Designer

And thank you again for a wonderful experience. I had a wonderful time!
MaryJo Lang, Warner, Sounddesignerin

FMX has been amazing. My compliments to everyone on the planning of such a world-class and intimate event.
Trevor Tuttle, Bosa

I was very impressed with the energy, diversity and vibe of FMX. This is not really a world that I connect with, but I found the range of ideas very inspiring. I was particularly pleased with the Wild and Animation side of the conference that ensured that indie voices had a place during the week. It would be nice to see more of the Wild and Animation in the future.
Chris Robinson, Artistic Director, Ottawa International Animation Festival

I loved the conference and had a fantastic time. I don’t know how you run things so smoothly. All the speakers talked about how much they appreciate all your hard work and coordination. It would be my pleasure to be part of FMX 2017. Happy to participate in any way that’s useful.
Camille Cellucci, Producer

Thank you for the wonderful experience of FMX!  I met many people and had lots of interesting conversations.
Richard Marks, Senior Researcher, Sony Interactive Entertainment

It was a pleasure, and very good to see you again. I actually found FMX especially useful this year (the year of VR) and very informative.

Jan Pinkava, Creative Director, Google Spotlight Stories

What a great experience.  I was so impressed at how well organized everything was - from the travel, to the tech support, to dinners, to the student representatives!  Everything was so capably handled with grace.
Kim Adams, Producer, Google Spotlight Stories

Deep thanks to you both, for bringing me to FMX and taking such good care. It was a wonderful conference (and as a conference director myself, I don't say that lightly), terrific content & people, fantastic organization, and beautiful all around. I am grateful to have been able to be a part of it. Congratulations on a great success.
Victoria Abrash, Conference Director, Association of Performing Arts Presenters; Asst. Professor, The New School

Thank you all so, so much for having Stacey and I at FMX. We had an incredible time; I’ve heard great things for years about this conference and now I understand it personally. You were all so helpful (as were the volunteers and all the staff) and kind and great to meet and be around. We left invigorated and inspired (and exhausted) and I really hope that we can make FMX a part of our plans each year now that we have discovered this gem for ourselves.
Andrew Cochrane, Digital/ Interactive Director, Mirada Studios

Thank you so much. It was amazing and I look forward to coming again. It was probably one of the best conferences I have been to in my life.
Marientina Gotsis, Research Assistant Professor at the Interactive Media & Games Division at the USC School of Cinematic Arts

Thanks so much, you and the team run such a great conference and it is certainly one of the best in the world. Congrats on another outstanding year.
Mike Seymour, Co-Founder, fxguide.com & fxphd.com

Now that things have calmed down post-FMX, I wanted to take a minute to congratulate you on an extremely well done job. I especially appreciate the mix of “soft” artistic sessions combined with the high-end technical stuff. At the end of the day, no matter how sophisticated the hardware, we are all in the storytelling business. Strip away all the digital bells and whistles, and you have two people sitting quietly under a tree talking to each other about what matters in the world. I think it is wise of you to keep that in focus at FMX - and with your students at the Animation Institute.
Ed Hooks, Acting Trainer

Thank You! It was a fantastic event, it was my first year coming myself and I was amazed at all that you have done to make it a success for everyone in attendance. Congratulations!
Jean Thoren, President/Publisher Animation Magazine

What a wonderful conference and it was such a great place to connect with important people in the industry in a wonderful setting. Your team was incredibly hospitable and I was so impressed with how organized everything was. And as I said before I am a huge fan of the Filmakademie and the artists being cultivated there. I will let you know if I have ideas about topics for next year. Thank you again and again!
Jacquie Barnbrook, Producer, The VRC

Dr. Richard Marks spoke about Sony's PlayStation Magic Lab & More.

Producer Camille Celluci talked about "The Walk" VR Experience.

Andrew Cochrane illuminated Mirada Studios's approach to storytelling.

Mary Jo Lang presented the "Art of Foley"
