Don Levy, Founder, Smith Brook Farm

Don Levy is the founder of Smith Brook Farm, a creative consultancy where ideas grow naturally. He inhabits the intersection of entertainment and technology, where he has been on the forefront of the digital transformation of Hollywood. In 2012, he left Sony Pictures Entertainment after 17 years in senior marketing and communications positions to focus on research as a visiting scholar at The University of Southern California, develop and launch a family entertainment venture, and serve on the faculty of Boston University's Los Angeles Program. He is also active in education issues, from public school funding to the future of education, and speaks or moderates on various education panels at conferences around the world. He is a longtime member of the TED (Technology, Entertainment and Design) Conference, the licensee for the independently organized TEDxConejo, a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and The International Photographers.

FMX is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the City of Stuttgart and the MFG Film Funding, taking place in cooperation with VES Visual Effects Society, ACM SIGGRAPH and the World Building Institute. FMX is an event by the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, organized by Animationsinstitut, hosting the Animation Production Day (APD), a joint venture with the Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart (ITFS).
