FMX 2018 - Newsletter #1: FMX at Siggraph 2017

31.07.2017

It feels like FMX 2017 was only yesterday, yet we are already in the midst of planning the 2018 edition. Therefore, the FMX team will be heading to Siggraph 2017 in Los Angeles (July 30 - August 3) to mingle with the international crowd, discuss the hottest topics of the industry and catch some Californian sun before getting back to the office to shape the new 2018 program.

Come visit us at Siggraph in LA!

You will have a double chance to get up close with FMX and Animationsinstitut, the organizer of FMX: Not only can you find us at our booth in South Hall, but you will also be able to experience the co-operative VR game DreamMakers at the VR Village. The game, that was developed by the Animationsinstitut students Dimosthenis Gkantzos (director / producer) and Aleksandra Todorovic, (producer) enables the players to create virtual dreams. So come around, try the game or have a chat with the team!

On a little side note, a total of three short films created at Animationsinstitut will be screened at the Electronic Theater: Song of a Toad (director: Kariem Saleh | producer: Alexandra Stautmeister) that was named Best in Show, Elemental (director: Adrian Meyer | producer: Lena-Carolin Lohfink) and Pirate Smooch (director: Tobias Trebeljahr | producer: Toufik Abdedaim).

WATCH: Interviews with Ed Hooks, John Knoll, Peter Lord and many more!

No matter if you missed FMX 2017 or just want learn more about the exciting projects and other fascinating topics the speakers talked about at FMX 2017, you should check out the AWN FMX 2017 Professional Spotlight series. It features plenty of industry experts and interesting topics such as Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
