Helpful info on the FMX app, the event locations as well as parties and company suites.

The Haus der Wirtschaft is all dressed up in Jazz Orgie motives, the Film Engine Virtual Production Stage looks impressive even as it's just being set up and the FMX team is chomping at the bit: FMX 2016 is about to kick off four intense days of digital entertainment next Tuesday.

To make things easier for you, FMX introduces the FMX app - the very first FMX app ever! The app helps you to plan and organize your week, assemble your program favorites and share them with your community. Download your free FMX 2016 app now on Google Play or the iOS App Store, immerse yourself in the schedule.

Did you know? Where and What

Nearly 260 speakers and 300 events in less than a week, all packed into one event. Whew, strong stuff. Here's a list of event locations so you don't become lost:

+ Cinema Caligari, Seestrasse 25, 71638 Ludwigsburg (shuttle bus service available)

Moreover, FMX and its organizer, the Institute of Animation, host the "Animators Arena," from April 27 to 30 at the Festival Garden. At the "Animators Arena," animated classics from the last 25 years of the Filmakademie are being presented and freshly interpreted by Cornelia Ragg (soprano) and Irena Jancevskyte (digital piano), every day from 17:30 to 17:50.

And don't forget to rise and shine the next morning - every day, the FMX schedule starts off with screenings from our beloved associated event partners, from the Annecy International Animated Film Festival to the London International Animation Festival and beyond!

Crème de la Crème: The Company Suites in the Forum

As much as six Company Suites showcase the whole potential of the respective industry leaders: There is the Autodesk Suite, the Business Lounge hosted by AMD FirePro, DELL and Intel, the Clarisse iFX Suite hosted by Isotropix, the HP/NVIDIA Studio and the Pixar Suite. Back for another year at FMX is Houdini Day - a full day dedicated to presenting the latest features in Houdini 15.5, including Houdini Engine, along with a showcase of VFX work from top-notch studios across Europe including The Mill, Double Negative, Wargaming.net and RISE. Houdini Day takes place on Tuesday, April 26th, in Raum Mannheim.

FMX is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the City of Stuttgart and the MFG Film Funding, taking place in cooperation with VES Visual Effects Society, ACM SIGGRAPH and the World Building Institute, supported by Animation Media Cluster Region Stuttgart (AMCRS) and Backstage. FMX is an event by the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, organized by the Animationsinstitut, hosting the Animation Production Day (APD), a joint venture with the Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart (ITFS).
