FMX on the road: next stop Vancouver!

13.07.2011

The FMX team will be heading to SIGGRAPH 2011 in Vancouver, Canada from August 7-11.

We are so excited about heading to Vancouver for the first time and look forward to running into FMX visitors and old friends. Come and chat to us! We’ll have our usual booth in “The Village” where you can meet us and pick up some exclusive merchandise as well as watching some of our best clips from 2011. Stay on the look out for our buttons, our familiar black bags and smiling faces.

Our 2011 trailer, “A Maize” will feature in the Student Projects at Siggraph! Many congratulations to filmmakers Roman Kälin, Falko Paeper and Florian Wittmann.  Try and catch this film and more on Wednesday 10th August, 13.30-14.45 (PST) in the West Building, Exhibit Hall A.
There are many more fantastic films in the “Student Projects” category, including winners from the Institute for Animation.

Prof Thomas Haegele - FMX Conference Chair and Director of the Institute of Animation, Visual Effects and Digital Postproduction - will be sharing his insight and the institute’s philosophies on the teaching of 3D computer animation. He will join leaders and thinkers from the top animation schools in the world in the session: “Designing Curriculum for 3D Computer Animation: Innovation and Experimentation for an Evolving Discipline”, Thursday 11 August, 10.45am-12.15pm.

We are looking forward to see you in Vancouver; if you can’t be with us have a great summer!
