Christopher O’Reilly, Co-Founder and Executive Creative Director, Nexus and Nexus Interactive Arts

As Co-Founder and ECD of London-based animation studio Nexus, Chris leads creative development, bringing his experience working across projects in the diverse fields of entertainment, technology and branded content. The studio's output includes an Oscar nominated short film, two Cannes Grand Prix winning commercials and interactive projects for the likes of Google and the White House. 

The studio has been at the forefront of exploring real-time storytelling particularly in VR and AR. Most recently Chris was executive creative director on the VR story Rain or Shine, a collaboration with Google's ATAP research department for Spotlight Stories.  

He is currently developing a slate of entertainment properties in VR and new innovative projects in AR.  The studio is also a recipient of a BFI Vision Award for feature development and has created TV content for the likes of the BBC, Disney and Amazon Studios.



FMX is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the City of Stuttgart and the MFG Film Funding, taking place in cooperation with VES Visual Effects Society, ACM SIGGRAPH and the World Building Institute, supported by Animation Media Cluster Region Stuttgart (AMCRS), AMD, AutodeskBackstage, Epic Games and Mackevision. FMX is an event by the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, organized by the Animationsinstitut, hosting the Animation Production Day (APD), a joint venture with the Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart (ITFS).
