Jacques Bled, CEO, Illumination Mac Guff

Upon completion of his cinema and social studies, Jacques Bled co-founded Mac Guff Ligne in 1986, a digital visual effects design studio specializing in 3D animation and VFX for commercials and feature films ("Azur et Asmar", "Irréversible", "Un Prophète", "Welcome", "Kirikou 3”…).

In August 2011, Jacques Bled became CEO of Illumination Mac Guff, a new company created by Universal Pictures. The animation studio based in Paris produced "Despicable Me" (2010), "Dr. Seuss' The Lorax" (2012), "Despicable Me 2" (2013) and "Minions"(2015). “The Secret Life of Pets” is currently in production for release in July 2016.

Jacques was promoted "Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres" and was appointed President of the Technical Industries Commission within the CNC. He was also named « Personality of the year » for 2013 by readers of the magazine Le Film Français.

FMX is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the City of Stuttgart and the MFG Film Funding, taking place in cooperation with VES Visual Effects Society, ACM SIGGRAPH and the World Building Institute, supported by Animation Media Cluster Region Stuttgart (AMCRS), AMD, AutodeskBackstage, Epic Games and Mackevision. FMX is an event by the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, organized by the Animationsinstitut, hosting the Animation Production Day (APD), a joint venture with the Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart (ITFS).
