Christopher O’Reilly, Co-Founder and Executive Creative Director, Nexus and Nexus Interactive Arts

Christopher O’Reilly is the co-founder and Executive Creative Director of Nexus Studios, one of the world’s leading independent animation and interactive studios.

He leads creative development across the company with its diverse output ranging from Oscar nominated shorts, Cannes Grand Prix winning commercials to high profile interactive work for the likes of Google and The White House. Recent credits include the opening film for Google I/O 2017 and award winning shorts ROBOT & SCARECROW and WEDNESDAY WITH GODDARD.

The company remains at the forefront of innovation in storytelling. Alongside VR the studio has created AR experiences for President Obama and the GRUFFALO and worked with Google’s Made With Code initiative to encourage girls across America to code dresses at New York Fashion week or illuminate the Holiday Trees at The White House.

FMX is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the City of Stuttgart and the MFG Film Funding, taking place in cooperation with VES Visual Effects Society, ACM SIGGRAPH and the World Building Institute, supported by Animation Media Cluster Region Stuttgart (AMCRS), AMD, AutodeskBackstage, Epic Games and Mackevision. FMX is an event by the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, organized by the Animationsinstitut, hosting the Animation Production Day (APD), a joint venture with the Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart (ITFS).
