Sabine Heller
Sabine Heller started her career in 2002 with an internship at Gentle Giant Studios in Burbank, California, working on major productions including "Pirates of the Caribbean", "The Polar Express", and "Spiderman". She then returned to her home country, Germany, to finish her studies in Media System Design at the Hochschule Darmstadt. After her graduation in 2004, she pursued her Master's degree in Computer Art at the New York School of Visual Arts on a Fulbright scholarship. After completing the 2-year program, Sabine was offered a job as Technical Director at Spans & Partner in Hamburg, Germany, where she worked for over two and a half years. In 2009, she returned to the United States and started working at Blue Sky Studios as a Character TD on 3D animated features like "Rio", "Ice Age", "Epic" and "The Peanuts Movie". After being promoted to Senior Character TD and then Rigging Show Lead, she earned the title of Character Development Supervisor and is now overseeing character creation throughout the entire pipeline at Blue Sky Studios.  

Blue Sky Studios is the Academy Award®-winning, feature CG animation studio behind the wildly successful ICE AGE franchise. Using the propriety rendering software, CGI Studio®, Blue Sky creates photo-realistic, high-resolution, computer-generated character animation and rendering to tell timeless stories to children of all ages. Blue Sky’s productions include ICE AGE (2002), ROBOTS (2005), ICE AGE: THE MELTDOWN (2006), DR. SEUSS’ HORTON HEARS A WHO (2008), ICE AGE: DAWN OF THE DINOSAURS (2009), RIO (2011); ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT (2012); EPIC (2013); RIO2 (2014) and THE PEANUTS MOVIE (2015). Blue Sky Studios is wholly owned by Twentieth Century Fox.

FMX is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the City of Stuttgart and the MFG Film Funding, taking place in cooperation with VES Visual Effects Society, ACM SIGGRAPH and the World Building Institute, supported by Animation Media Cluster Region Stuttgart (AMCRS), AMD, AutodeskBackstage, Epic Games and Mackevision. FMX is an event by the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, organized by the Animationsinstitut, hosting the Animation Production Day (APD), a joint venture with the Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart (ITFS).
