Mate Steinforth

Mate Steinforth, born 1977 in Hannover, Germany, is a designer and director based in Berlin. He studied graphic design in Hildesheim, Germany and fine arts in Madrid, Spain. His early professional work was focused on animation, particularly the performance art of VJing. In 2002, he moved to Madrid to work as an art director in the design studio Juan Dela Mata. In 2004 he moved back to Berlin where he worked as a freelance motion designer and director. In 2006 he moved to New York to work for the production company PSYOP.

In 2009, Mate moved back to Germany to join the motion design and animation label SEHSUCHT Berlin as Creative Director. Since 2011 Mate Steinforth has been a member of the Art Directors Club Germany.

FMX is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the City of Stuttgart and the MFG Film Funding, taking place in cooperation with VES Visual Effects Society, ACM SIGGRAPH and the World Building Institute. FMX is an event by the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, organized by Animationsinstitut, hosting the Animation Production Day (APD), a joint venture with the Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart (ITFS).
